The national natural monument was the approach to Rokusho Shrine (now Okunitama Shrine), with riding grounds on both sides. The city's conservation plan says zelkovas were planted on the riding grounds Tokugawa Ieyasu donated, and these are thought to lead to today's avenue. A legend of seedlings donated by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and Yoshiie is also told.

  • National natural monument since 1924
  • Approach to Rokusho Shrine, riding grounds on both sides
  • Origins vary; the city cites Ieyasu's donated riding grounds

An ink inscription found while the Former Mitsuoka Family Nagayamon Gate was dismantled confirmed it was built in 1829. Its gate section uses a distinctive beam construction, and the rooms on both sides are fully plastered storehouse-style with an overlaid roof. Tokyo describes the form as unique, with no other examples.
