The prefecture has 38 natural monuments.Doshi's one is a river alga.

Under the prefectural nature conservation ordinance there are 38 natural monuments. In the prefecture's list, Doshi has one: the kawanori of Omuro in Minamitsuru District (350 m of public water surface). Kawanori is a freshwater green alga that grows in flowing water, and the village chronology also records it as a prefectural designation.

02 / Matosama

In the pool below a riverbed slab of rock,the harvest has been foretold.

In the bed of a tributary of the Doshi River lies a single slab of rock called Matosama. A legend says Yoritomo shot at a target 4 km away and that the fallen target remained as the rock. At the festival held every April at the waterfall below, the amount of white sand in the pool has been used to foretell the year's harvest.

03 / Mount Mishotai

A mountain with a gongen shrine on its summitis a prefectural nature preservation area.

The 96 ha of Mount Mishotai that straddle Tsuru City and Doshi form a prefectural nature preservation area. A gongen shrine stands on the summit, and the tourism association writes that old-growth forest of hemlock and beech remains around it. The prefecture's tourism site presents it as a mountain of faith where the priest Myoshin trained in the Bunka era.

There is no railway station in the village, and about 95% of it is forest. Elevations in the village range from 400 m to 900 m, and the two ends of the village, 28 km apart east to west, are said to differ by a month in season. Yokohama's water-source forest covers about 30% of the village area, and since 1897 the water of the Doshi River has served as a source for Yokohama's waterworks.
