A national Natural Monument in the front yard of Uenohara Elementary School. The city's cultural property page gives a height of 28 m, a girth of 8.64 m at eye level and a root girth of 10.21 m, and says the main trunk is gone at a point 4.5 m above the ground.

The Koizuka milestone mound in Inume is a prefecturally designated historic site. The city writes that the north mound was cut away and the south mound keeps its original form well. The prefecture's guide to the Koshu Kaido calls it the only milestone mound on the Koshu Kaido to keep its appearance from the time, and gives the south mound as about 12 m across and 5 m high.

Small potatoes called seida-imo, after a magistrate,are simmered down sweet and salty.

Seida-imo is a local name for the potato around Uenohara, after Nakai Seidayu, the Koshu magistrate who promoted potato growing in the Edo period, the Agency for Cultural Affairs writes. Tamaji are small potatoes; the city explains that seida no tamaji is a dish of small potatoes left uneaten, simmered down in miso.
