A sluice of 1705 was rebuiltas a brick arch in 1888.
In 1705, the year after the Yamato River was rerouted, a sluice for taking in water was cut through the Tsukidome embankment. It was rebuilt in brick in 1888. Its opening is a horseshoe-shaped semicircular arch like a railway tunnel, which the city notes is unusual for a sluice. It is still in use.
