At the Gion festival of Yaeda Shrine (八枝神社) in Hirakata-Kamishuku, the undecorated white-wood inkyo mikoshi (いんきょ神輿) is rolled in yards soaked with water, until the portable shrine and its bearers are covered in mud. The joint procession of four districts ended after 1923, and Kamishuku fully revived it in 1973. Since 2011 it has been an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Saitama Prefecture.
