A mirage of marching soldiers was written downby a monk, and later carved in stone.

In the tenth month of Bunka 9 (1812), a mirage appeared over Nasuno of a company of soldiers marching with swords on their shoulders and spears raised. A monk from Koshu passing through wrote it down. Locals called a mirage "horo," and the monument at Yudono Shrine is what was later carved in stone.
