Yaita Takeshi's old residence keeps a nagaya-mon gatehouse, a main house and two storehouses built in the Edo period, and is a city historic site. The city relates that the new national road (the former National Route 4) was built in a straight line toward a red flag tied to a huge cedar at the Yaita house, partly on Katsu Kaishu's orders.

  • City-designated historic site
  • Gatehouse, main house, two storehouses
  • New road, now the former Route 4
