Futagoyama Tumulus, a national historic site, is a keyhole-shaped mound 94 m long, thought to date to the early 6th century. X-ray fluorescence analysis showed that the haniwa and Sue ware from the ditch outside its moat were fired at the Shimohara ancient kiln site. Eleven kilns were found and five are preserved on site. The city calls it a rare case where both the production site and the supply site are known.
