Ginowan City isthis kind of town.

  1. 01Oyama Shell Mound is a national historic site that locals call Misukumui and treasure as an utaki, a sacred site; the pottery found in the 1958 dig was placed as Okinawa's standard pottery, known as Oyama-style
  2. 02Kiyuna is a planned village of early modern Ryukyu laid out like a grid, with seven carved stone shisa lions placed around it
  3. 03Ginowan lies on a thick layer of Ryukyu limestone that stores water like an underground dam, so springs and caves are scattered across the city
