The first tournament, forerunner of the summer national high school baseball tournament, was held in 1915 at a ground built in 1913. The crowds were too large to hold, so from the third tournament the venue moved to Naruo Ballpark. The ground was torn down in the late Taisho era, and the site became a residential area.
