01 / Waterfall
Mt. Fuji’s lava becomesa waterfall by the houses.

Ayutsubo Falls (鮎壺の滝) on the Kise River is 9 m high. It formed at the southwestern tip of the Mishima lava flow from an eruption of Mt. Fuji about 10,000 years ago, and lava tree molds can be seen behind the falls. Because the falls and Mt. Fuji can be seen together, it is also called “Fujimi Falls”, and it is a prefectural natural monument. The town says it is “100 steps from the houses”.
