The Tajima family opened Ichinoe new-field land in the early Edo period and served as its headmen for generations. The present main house was rebuilt in the Anei era (1772-80): a thatched L-shaped farmhouse with an entrance, reception rooms and an earthen-floor area. Tokyo designated it a historic site in 1954.
