Tatami-floored seating for the congregationconveys what the mission was like in its day.

A wooden church built in 1896 (Meiji 29), with a large rose window at the centre of its front. Father Louis Relave designed it, and a local carpenter built it. The Agency for Cultural Affairs' commentary says its tatami-floored seating conveys the mission work of its day, and calls it among the oldest surviving wooden Catholic churches outside Nagasaki.
